I got this a while back for school, I know it's a travel backpack but I use it for school. I was excited to clip on my lulu the pig keychain. However when I go back to my car after school, I happen to notice the zipper cable just flayed out and it dropped my keychain. Which costed quite a bit of money. That's just something to keep in mind, probably don't clip on any keychains to it. I didn't think it'd be that weak and even so the only way for it to unravel is to have it pressured upwards, but my keychain was obviously putting a down force on it so I don't get how it just unraveled.
I do have another keychain, but now I'm not so sure I want to put it on this backpack anymore. Also another thing is the keychain itself isn't heavy, yet the zipper kept dropping down for some reason. I chose that zipper specifically since it was a good spot for a keychain that size. The other options weren't as nice.
Don't get me wrong though, besides this experience it's a nice backpack, I just wished there was some sort of clip mechanism or extra strength on these zipper cables to hold keychains on without the worry of it unravelling and dropping your keychain (in my case it was a lulu the pig, and it's quite expensive like around 20-30 bucks). So just dropped and lost 30 bucks instantly. First day putting the keychain on as well.
I waited 2 weeks to make this review, but honestly I had the 5 stars in mind since my first use. The backpack is very confortable, it adjusts very well to your back. The bag is very light also, been using it as an EDC and very satisfied.
Still haven't used it for travelling, but I believe it has enough space for a short trip.
First off, I wanted to commend the owner Dylan for going above and beyond by helping me receive my bag before my trip to Europe. I sent out a message without any expectation of follow up and he delivered! Really personable and cool guy too I might add.
As far as the bag itself, I received it and noticed right away the thought that went into this bag which was an obvious passion project. I had done a lot of research prior to find a bag for my trip, and settled on the Almond Oak based off of size, price point, functionality, and design. I was not disappointed when I received the bag as the quality was amazing, and literally made my trip for 2 weeks possible with just a carry on. I definitely put it through its paces and used every oz of space possible to the point I could not pack anything else in it if I tried. I was worried that packing it tight would put some wear or mess up the stitching of the bag but it has held up great! It also rained on my trip and it kept my belongings dry. Literally no complaints and would buy another one in a heart beat, but the quality is so great I prob won’t ever have to. I have recommended this bag to all my friends as well who are planning trips overseas. You won’t regret this purchase. For what it is, it’s seriously a steal!
If you're worried about tariffs/shipping, don't worry. I ordered after all the international carriers suspended shipping to the US and was worried it would take a long time to get here, plus might have to pay tariffs. I emailed Dylan and he reassured me there would be no issues. Today, my bag showed up! I'm very impressed with the quality and how quick it came. Looking forward to using it on my upcoming trips!
Actually best backpack ever bought, worth every penny, the adjustable sizing and amounts of pockets available while keeping a clean profile really did for me
